Rabone, John Randell, Don Ringuette, Adam Roberts, Nicki Snodgrass, Brandon Thrasher, Sarah Wall-Randell, and Curtis Wright. Read on for more information about our Advisory Board members. Kaitlyn Chantry began her career with the Longwood Players onstage in the 2005 production of Arcadia. Since then, she has worked as a stage manager for TLP productions and will take the director's chair for our upcoming 10th anniversary season. Kaitlyn studied acting, directing, and dramaturgy as a theatre major at Dartmouth College and received her Ed.M. in arts in education from Harvard University. She is also the founder and Executive Director of Playhouse Education, a residency company that brings Shakespeare and other theatrical endeavors into Boston area schools. Adam Friedman has appeared onstage in TLP productions of Arcadia (2005) and Cloud Nine (2006), and has worked backstage on several productions since 2001. Previous theater experiences include theater space and production management at Princeton University, where he obtained a Certificate in Theater and Dance. Adam's principal occupation is in the medical sciences. Heather Goff began performing in middle school and high school musicals, talent shows, concert choirs and show choirs, as well as church choirs and 4-H – basically anywhere they would let her sing! Heather graduated from Auburn University, where she was active in the University’s Concert Choir and Show Singers. After a hiatus from performing, she was thrilled to perform in TLP’s production of Cabaret in 2003. Since then she served for a year on the Board of Directors, acted as House Manager for many shows, painted on several sets, and is currently serving as Props Designer for A New Brain. Heather is proud to be a part of such a great group! Heather has her Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and is currently a Program Manager with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where she organizes the annual Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Jeremy Lang, a Boston native, was music director for TLP’s productions of Singin' in the Rain (2001), Pippin (2002), Cabaret (2003), and Merrily We Roll Along (2006). Jeremy is a classical percussionist who plays with numerous local orchestras and bands. He is married to Karla Goo Lang, a cast member of several TLP productions. Jeremy works at Elysium Digital, a technical litigation consulting firm in Cambridge, along with regular TLP collaborators Paul Mattal and Martin Kemp. Paul Mattal music directed TLP's second production, West Side Story, in 2000, and has been involved in many subsequent productions as vocal director and on the production staff. In December 2006, he married Laura Bottoms, who he met while vocal directing Pippin in 2002! During the day, Paul helps lawyers win their high-tech legal cases by teaching them how computers work. Paul wrote the cue software used for the video projections in several TLP productions. When he's not working on a TLP production, Paul may be found playing cello for Harvard's Lowell House Opera or managing and singing with The Seraphim Singers. Marc Miller directed TLP productions of Pygmalion (2004), Arcadia (2005), and Cloud Nine (2006). He has also directed, acted in, or swept up after productions at about a dozen community, collective, and professional theatre groups in Massachusetts and North Carolina. For his day job, he has been an historian, a journalist, and now writer and editor for progressive nonprofits, with about a dozen books to his name on human rights, education, theatre, economic opportunity, health care, etc. The common theme? As Eliza Doolittle would sing, "Words, words, words, I'm so sick of words…." Daniel J. Rabone became involved with the Longwood Players in 2002 when he played the Emcee in the Longwood production of Cabaret. Since then, he has handled the Graphic Design for all of our shows, including posters, postcards, program covers, and most recently, the new Longwood Players web site. Daniel is also an EMACT award-winning actor/singer who has been performing in the Boston area since 1991. Off stage, Daniel works as an Art Director and Project Manager for a local publishing company that produces educational children's literature. John Randell grew up in Iowa City, where he designed sets and lighting for several productions at the Iowa City Community Theater and was the Master Electrician for the Riverside Theater Company. John has designed several shows for The Longwood Players, including the lighting for West Side Story and Company and the sets for Pygmalion, La Cage aux Folles, Arcadia, and Cloud Nine. Other roles at TLP include Carpenter, Master Electrician, and Scenic Artist. John is a postdoctoral fellow in the Biology Department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Don Ringuette made his professional stage debut at age 18 in a production of Gilbert and Sullivan's Patience. He received a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science as well as a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Theatre, both from the University of Rhode Island. He has played leading roles in a variety of musicals and operas, his favorites including South Pacific, Closer than Ever, Baby, The Secret Garden, West Side Story, Gianni Schicci, Trial by Jury, and Carmen. Don began working with TLP when he acted as Music Director for our 2005 production of La Cage aux Folles. He then appeared in the leading role of Frank for our 2006 production of Merrily We Roll Along and acted again as Music Director for our 2007 production of A New Brain. Don recently released a CD titled "American Songbook" that is available at amazon.com, Tower Records and other online stores. Adam Roberts made his Longwood Players debut as musical director for the 2004 production of Company. As a writer and composer, his musical Harold and the Purple Crayon has its world premiere in May 2007 at Seacoast Repertory Theatre. Adam sings with Boston-area a cappella sensation Honorable Menschen, serves on the board of Brookline Tai Chi, and works full-time for the Huntington Theatre Company. Nicki Snodgrass has been involved with The Longwood Players since Cloud Nine (2006), helping with publicity and ticket management. Delighted to be part of the area's diverse theater community, she works as an accountant with Broadway Across America Boston and as an assistant house manager at the Boston Opera House. Nicki credits her love of theater to her brother, Stephen, who introduced her to the musical Les Miserables over ten years ago, and dedicates her work in the medium to his memory. Brandon Thrasher joined the Longwood Players in 2007 as the lighting designer for A New Brain. Previous theater experience includes lighting designs for the Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Wisconsin Singers and the regional premier of Somebody Catch My Homework by Sandra Fenichel Asher. Brandon is currently devoting the majority of his professional time to architectural lighting by using his strong background in theatrical lighting to enhance the architectural experience. Brandon holds a MFA in lighting design from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Sarah Wall-Randell has most recently served as dramaturg for TLP’s productions of The Importance of Being Earnest and She Loves Me, combining her interests in theater and literary studies. Sarah began her apprenticeship as a stage manager in high school in Raleigh, NC, continuing to SM (and occasionally direct) at Wellesley College, Oxford University, Harvard University, and at the Edinburgh Fringe, while studying English literature. Sarah now teaches Shakespeare and Renaissance literature at Wellesley. She is married to fellow advisory board member John Randell, who brought her into the fold of TLP, and whom she met, of course, while working on a play. |
