The Longwood Players, Inc. is a nonprofit theater company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The Longwood Players was established in 1998, producing its first musical (Hair) in 1999 at the Mass College of Art. In 2003, The Longwood Players incorporated as a 501c(3) and expanded its season to include two full productions and a cabaret fundraiser. Also in 2003, Longwood moved to its current home at the Cambridge YMCA Theater with its production of Cabaret, the inaugural production in the beautifully-renovated Victorian theater housed in the YMCA. Originally built in 1897, the theater was shut down in the 1970s and reopened for theatrical performances. Now the theater company in residence at the Cambridge YMCA, Longwood continues to produce 3 productions per year, and has recently expanded its season to include summer programming. The Longwood Players is led by a Board of Directors and a Management Staff, who dedicate their time and talent to managing and growing the company.

Our members comprise individuals from all walks of life
