Overview
Burst is a new work by playwright Amy Leigh Horan. As their mother lies in a coma in the Neuro ICU, 3 siblings find a home in waiting room 3. With humor and heart, Burst explores the comedy and clarity of crisis and love.
Cast of Characters
Stephen: any ethnicity, late teens - 20s. The youngest child, 17. Funny and lovable, on the fringe of his high school. Gets along well with adults.
Ally: any ethnicity, 20s - 30s. The middle child. She's extraverted and spontaneous, with a pinch of narcissism. She was popular in high school.
Erin: any ethnicity, 20s - 30s. The oldest sister. Acutely aware of her role as the eldest/ matriarch of her siblings. She is guarded, decisive, and pragmatic. Prone to revel in her authority.
Kira: any ethnicity, late teens - 20s. The cousin, 15. Upbeat, a bit flighty, and resilient. An amateur blogger with a well of introspection.
Steve: any ethnicity, 20s - 30s. Ally's boyfriend. Tries to say the right thing. Kind of a jock; sincere.
