Announcing our 2022-26 season!
Dear Longwood friends and family,
Here we are at the close of the summer! We at the Longwood Players hope yours was bright and restful. At the tail end of it, we want to give you a run-down of what TLP is up to this 2025-2026 season. We’ve got some events in store that champion our ideals of Community Development and Cultural Enrichment, and we’re eager to share them with you…
On SEPTEMBER 20 & 21, we will be joining the Apollinaire Theatre in their APOLLINAIRE IN THE PARK: FESTIVAL EDITION, celebrating the 30th anniversary of this landmark theatre in the shape of free performances, workshops, food, and activities.
This winter, on FEBRUARY 6 & 7, we will be hosting our annual LONGWOOD PLAYERS’ CABARET, a night dedicated to celebrating the community that has made our work possible and featuring songs and performances by talented actors from throughout TLP’s history.
Our principal show this season is Brian Friel’s TRANSLATIONS, taking place from May 7 through 16. Translations is a classic piece set amidst the British occupation of Ireland. The play examines the ways language and culture unite and divide us, and the ways people and communities adapt and persevere in the face of transformative pressure. We’re still assembling this production’s creative team—so let us know if you’d like to take part! We’re so excited to share the show with you.
We’re eager to see you around the theatre as we continue to strive to create work that is artistically interesting, intellectually stimulating, and socially compelling. We hope you’re looking forward to this season as much as we are!
